Homework and Classwork Through Monday, 4/2

FOR BOTH LATIN I AND LATIN II, YOU WILL BE PREPARING THE WORK OUTLINED HERE TO TURN IN ON MONDAY, WORKING EITHER IN CLASS OR ON YOUR TRIP OR AT YOUR CONFERENCE.  IF YOU WORK ELECTRONICALLY, BE SURE TO PRINT YOUR WORK OR EMAIL IT TO ME BEFORE MONDAY.

LATIN I
1. Polish up your Ch. 22 translation.
2. Make flashcards (or whatever your vocabulary method may be) for Ch. 23.
3. Translate the Ch. 23 story, "At the Porta Capena," pp. 199-200 in your TEXTBOOK.
4. Alone or with a classmate, correct and revise your Ch. 23 translation.
5. On the same sheet(s) as your Ch. 23 translation, note one of each of the following and the line number where you found it/them.
     A. A nominative singular and a nominative plural
     B. A genitive singular and a genitive plural
     C. A dative
     D. An accusative direct object
     E. An accusative object of a preposition
     F. An ablative object of a preposition
     G. An ablative without a preposition
6. Turn all of this in on Monday.



LATIN II
1. Correct and revise your translation of "Pyramus and Thisbe."
2. Translate the Ch. 46 story, "A Rainy Day," pp. 199-200 in your TEXTBOOK.
3. Alone or with a classmate, correct and revise your translation.
4. On the same sheet(s) with your translation, note each of the following from "A Rainy Day," including line numbers.
     A. a perfect passive participle (4th principal part) used as an adjective
     B. a perfect passive participle in the ablative case
     C. An accusative of duration (of time)
     D. A verb in the subjunctive
     E. An infinitive used as the direct object of a verb or other infinitive
5. Choose one sentence of five or more words, copy it, and label what each word is doing, grammatically, in the sentence.
6. Turn all of these in on Monday.

Due Tuesday: Finish translating the Ch. 22 story

Due Wednesday/Thursday: Activity 22c, p. 153, and Activity 22g, p. 155, in your WORKBOOK.

Due Friday: Prepare flashcards for Ch. 22.

Due Tuesday: Continue translating the Ch. 45 story.

1. Make flashcards for Ch. 45.
2. Read pp. 187-188 in your TEXTBOOK.

Due Friday:
1. Activity 45d, p. 136 in your WORKBOOK.
2. Translate one of the extracts from Ovid, pp. 137-139, in your WORKBOOK.

Due Monday: Finish translating "Arachne et Minerva," p. 194, in your TEXTBOOK.
