Abbreviation of cases for Latin I

Here is a kind of abbreviated shorthand for the cases in Latin.  These are not complete definitions, just a way to remember what we've studied so far.

Nominative = subject of the sentence, or complement of a linking verb
Genitive = the possessive ("of")
Dative = indirect object
Accustaive = direct object, or object of prepositions per, prope, ad, and in when it means into
Ablative = object of prepositions sub, ex, and in when it means within, nouns used to
                    tell when, how, or by what
Vocative = direct address
